In a broader perspective, the project is expected to improve the position of the Polish economy on European and global markets by development of innovative solutions created in cooperation by the private sector (with particular emphasis on SMEs) and the science sector. Development work carried out under PRACE-LAB2 focuses on providing modern container solutions inside the cloud and new services, incl. HPCaaS (HPC as a Service), GPUaaS, providing accelerators inside the cloud - IaaS, emulation of quantum computing, Big Data analytics or rendering of visualizations. Works are divided between four specialized laboratories responsible for individual elements of the e-infrastructure and services which are being built:
- Laboratory of HPC e-infrastructure
- Laboratory of service platforms
- Laboratory of next-generation computing services
- Laboratory of large-scale data analysis.
Tools and services designed under PRACE-LAB 2 are created especially for enterprises, also from the SME sector, government and local government administration and research units from universities, institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and state research institutes. The project is being carried out by a Consortium composed of:
